Thank you for your interest in Literary Night, we have canceled this event for 2020. Check out the virtual reading here and learn all about the literary organizations and authors we had planned to feature here.

Located throughout the Highlandtown Arts District during the August Highlandtown First Friday Art Walk

Start your tour at Yellow Arrow House, 335 S Conkling St, Baltimore, MD 21224

Part of the Highlandtown First Friday Art Walk in partnership with Highlandtown Main Street, Highlandtown Arts District, and Southeast CDC

We’re at it again! Baltimore area authors, writers, small presses, and literary organizations will gather on this special evening to celebrate the vibrant and thriving literary scene right here in the city. Check out highlights from 2019 here and here and here.

If you are a writer who would like to give a reading or sell books at our book fair, apply below. Baltimore area authors and writers are invited to give readings on the main stage at RoofTop Hot -or- participate in the mini-book fair at Yellow Arrow House. All writers welcome as well as all genres, although we would prefer that readings be reasonably family friendly (limit curse words, etc). There is no fee to sign up.

If you are part of a literary organization (university, magazine/journal, small press, writing/reading group, etc), apply below. Baltimore area literary organizations will be invited to table at the wide variety of art galleries and venues located throughout the art walk. Each organization will provide a hands-on or interactive literary-focused activity for participants to engage. There is no fee to participate.

We are seeking volunteers to help out in the months and days leading up to the event, as well as before, during, and after the event. All are welcomed to volunteer! Tasks will include distributing fliers before the event, creating signage, set up before the event, general event management help, customer service during the event, and helping to take down and pack everything up after. Even if you can only volunteer for part of the night, or only before, please still sign up, we would love to have you. The event runs from 4 PM until 10 PM on August 7th, 2020 (the event is 5-9, 4-10 includes set up and take down). There is no fee to participate. Applications are due by April 15!
